The Roxhill blog is launching... Right now, okay, let's go!
So I had this little inspiration the other day at Seattle Night Out. All of these people were gathered around a few tables parked in the middle of our street chatting. I realized we have all these great neighbors, we get along really well, and we are staying in touch more, doing more together, etc. It made me think I want to tell the rest of the town all the cool conversations we have. About our neighborhood businesses, schools, about our kids, our parks and all of the stuff going down all the time here.
And to be clear this isn't a new idea. I took another part of my inspiration from great micro-blogs popping up around here like Beach Drive Blog and the Fauntlee Hills Blog. After seeing what these great women were doing I thought let's do it.
But I am not that confident of a writer - or in the fact that I can keep up with this. So I have enlisted a group of neighbors to hopefully contribute as well. Between the group of us you will start to get a picture of our little corner of Seattle. The neighborhood officially called Roxhill - but a lot refer to as Westwood, Sunset Heights, even High Point or Delridge at times.
Regardless we're pretty much smack dab in the middle of the larger neighborhood of West Seattle. We have a school that's been empty for almost 15 years that's about to come back to life. We're on the wrong side of 35th Ave SW (which some refer to as I-35). We live on the highest hill in the city but sometimes we act like the bottom of the barrel and we have a ton of fun doing it!
Stay tuned and you'll soon learn why Roxhill Rox!
